Disabling Auto Complete in the Search Bar

The Advanced Search Bar enables auto complete for the text fields.

Last Name search field with Auto Complete enabled.

The feature may be disabled when necessary.

Start the Project Designer. In the Project Explorer, double-click on Employees / container1 / view1 / grid1 / LastName data field node.

Make the following change:

$disableautocomplete

Press OK to save the data field. On the toolbar, press Browse to generate the application.

When a web browser window opens, navigate to Employees page and open the advanced search bar. The Last Name search field no longer has Auto Complete capabilities enabled.

Feature: Automatic Search Bar

The Advanced Search Bar is available in all grid and data sheet views. The Search Bar can be activated by clicking on the Chevron icon Advanced Search Bar on the action bar next to Quick Find. It requires no additional configuration and automatically displays the first three data fields in the view.

It allows end users to form complex and specific queries to find the data they need. This capability complements Quick Find.

Feature: Advanced Navigation Menus

These examples were created in minutes straight from Adventure Works database featuring 91 tables and views. Complex navigation hierarchy is effortlessly displayed in a configurable advanced two-level main menu.

A traditional multi-level menu is automatically configured in a generated web application by default.

Another presentation option offers a minimalistic rendering of the most complex navigation systems. The site menu is hidden in the screen shot and can be activated if a user moves a mouse over the application name in the page header.

A web app is configured with "Navigation Button" site menu. The button is not active.

The navigation menu has multiple levels reflecting the relationships between database tables. Developers can change the automatically composed navigation hierarchy in Project Designer.

A single configuration option allows changing the menu presentation style to two-level advanced menu or navigation button menu.
