Layout: Tabbed

Tabbed layout puts all master and child data views in the same container, but in different tabs.

Upon first accessing a page, there will be one tab that contains the master data view.

When the user selects a master record, the child data view tabs will appear.

Information from the master record will be displayed in the summary on the side bar. The summary remains visible when a child tab is selected.

The child data views display detail records connected to the selected master. If another master record is selected, then the corresponding detail records will be retrieved from the server.

You can control visibility of data views on the page with Visible When and Roles properties.

Layout: Inline

The inline layout uses a Tasks box on the side bar to switch between data views.

When the user first opens the page, only the master data view is displayed. A Tasks box on the side bar only shows the master data view as an option.

Select a record in the master data view, and the child data views will be available to select in the Tasks box.

On Customers page with Inline layout, when a master record is displayed, the child data views become available to select in the Tasks box.

Click on an option in the Tasks box and the master data view will be replaced by the requested data view. The master customer record is still selected and the details can be seen in the Summary.

Select a child data view option in the Tasks box, and the current controller will be replaced by the requested data view.

The child data views display detail records connected to the selected master. If another master record is selected, then the corresponding detail records will be retrieved from the server.

You can control visibility of data views on the page with Visible When and Roles properties.

Layout: Classic

The Classic layout displays the master data view at the top of the page. The child data views display underneath in their respective tabs.

If a master record is selected, then a container will appear under the master data view, containing all child data views in their respective tab.
