“Report (Word)” Action

The Report (Word) action will output a report in Microsoft Word (.doc) format. The default Report (Word) action with label of “Microsoft Word” is highlighted in the picture below.

The file will open in your default document reader associated with .doc extension.

Note that reports in DOC format are not typographically precise – if this is a requirement, then use PDF or TIFF formats.

“Report (Excel)” Action

The Report (Excel) action will output a report in Microsoft Excel format. The standard Report (Excel) action is presented to the users as an option labeled “Spreadsheet” under Reports action group. The action is highlighted in the picture below.

Report (Excel) action on the action bar is highlighted.

Activating the action will produce a spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel format. The file will open in the default spreadsheet viewer associated with .xls extension.

Note that Microsoft Excel is not a typographically precise format – PDF or TIFF formats provide the highest quality and precision of output.

“Report (PDF)” Action

The Report (PDF) action functions exactly like the Report action. It produces a report using Microsoft Report Viewer in PDF format.

This is the standard Report (PDF) action available by default in all data controllers.
